Secluded Cottage on Bella Lake

This is a rustic, but cozy and comfortable 2 bedroom cottage on a private lot with 250 feet of waterfront, surrounded by trees.  The lake itself also has a large sandy beach which is co-owned by the cottagers, and is ideal for swimming and picnicing.  There are large shallow sections of sand there which are particularly well suited for kids or non-swimmers.

 While there are numerous cottages in the Muskokas, most lakes are either densely populated with cottages and speedboats, or too small to provide good swimming, fishing or sailing.  If your goal is a highly social environment for waterskiing or jetboating, then other cottages are probably better suited, but if you want something quiet and secluded, or you want the benefits of a larger lake without the crowds, then this is a rare gem.

The nearest neighbours are a hundred metres away through the trees on one side (and much further through the trees on the other) - neither of which is visible from the cottage.

Summer use:

The lake is very clean, and large enough to use for sailing or water skiing, though small enough to explore sections with a canoe.

About a kilometer away, there is a long sandy beach, which is ideal for swimming and picnicing, with large shallow sections well suited for kids or non-swimmers.
(this is accessible both by boat or by car)

Winter use:

The cottage is fully winterized and has been occupied year round in the past, though in the winter it requires a walk in of 100-200 metres.

It is situated in an excellent spot to use as a base for downhill or cross-country skiing.

Note:  Some winters, due to limited use, we turn off the water supply. The cottage is otherwise still usable.  The primary difference is that the washing machine and shower would not be usable.  If it is required for longer use, the water may be re- established.

A short drive away (~15-20 minutes drive) there are also numerous places to visit including:

• Algonquin Park - A beautiful provincial park with canoeing, hiking, museums, nature programs
• Deerhurst Resort - An upscale resort with a night club, restaurant, horseback riding, golfing & a spa
• Hidden Valley - Another upscale resort with skiing in the winter
• Olympia Sports Camp - A camp for children to develop skills in a variety of sports
